Our second annual walk for Diabetes awareness was held in
Lawrence Park in September of 2007. Diabetes is the leading
preventable cause of blindness. It is one of the most
rapidly growing diseases in the World. The Kalispell Lions
Club has joined with the Diabetes Care Program at Kalispell
Regional Medical center to raise funds for Diabetes awareness
and to provide financial assistance for Diabetic people in the
Flathead Valley. 100% of the monies raised are disturbed
in the local area and will help people and children with
education, eye exams & glasses, Diabetes youth retreats and
other diabetes related expenses. The 2007 walk raised
over $10000 and over 40 people attended.
